Research Expeditions
| We regularly enjoy working with research institutes on special programs that are conducted in the Indian Ocean. |
| In recent years we have participated in the following programs. |
| The Indian Ocean Explorer was honoured to be associated with Professor Hans Fricke as support vessel for his Coelacanth research programme in the Comores in November 2002. We are pleased to post this short report on the trip along with the details of the "Coelafari" participant. |
| The Indian Ocean Explorer loaded the Jago submersible and part of the research team at the port of Longoni in Mayotte at the beginning of November 2002 and proceeded to the research area off Grand Comore. |
| After a few minor alterations to the newly organised rear deck, launching trials were underway. The crew soon became accustomed to the procedure for launching and recovering the submersible. |
