Northern Inner Islands
The northernmost islands of the Seychelles, including all the the granite islands, are known as the Inner Islands. To these belong Mahé with the capital city Victoria as well as the islands of Praslin and La Digue, much admired by visitors for their many protected natural and birding reserves.
Although some areas of the Northen Inner Islands offer full-time dive operations and regularly dived sites, these constitute only a tiny proportion of the diving available in this area. Most of the best sites are out of range of shore-based dayboats.
A special feature of the region is the regular appearance of the Whale Shark. We can adjust our agenda to accommodate special requests for visiting islands which have been declared nature reserves.
The diving in this area is diverse, including both true coral reefs and the impressive granite reefs for which the Northern Inner Islands are renown. Our schedule may include visits to world-recognized sites, such as the Ennerdale Wreck and the Brissare Rocks. Other lesse- known and more remote areas such as Teh Sisters, Aride, Trompeuse, Frigate, and Denis islands are also dived regularly.
For the most part, however, we dive in areas which are less frequented by land-based operations such as the well-known Ennerdale Wreck and the Brissare Rocks, as well as at some more remote but spectacular locations, e.g., The Sisters, Aride, Trompeuse, Frigate, Denis and other islands.
