The Seychelles are known amongst the cognoscenti for the bird life found there. The rareness and number of birds observed there is truly unique. Migrating birds, local species and many types of water birds can be seen in large groups. Some of the best places for viewing them are on Bird Island, Cousin and Aride. within the framework of our programs, we visit bird colonies or look for the rare Flightless Rale which exists only on the Seychelles.

There remain only a few pairs of this bird species (The Flightless Rale) on Aldabra; they are extinct elsewhere in the world.
